Motivational Cry

The last sound I heard

…Was…

A mockingbird cry

…Just…

As I fell down to die

…The…

Mimic was despairing

…To…

My already broken heart

…Above…

I saw the mockingbird flapping

…Its…

Broken wing. If he can still

…Sing…

I can persevere. Get up

…Not…

Give up, and learn how to

…Fly…

If all else fails, at least I can give

…It…

A hell of a try

A Bird In The Frost

Outside the window in the early morning

Frost…

I observed a single bird that appeared to be

Lost…

It tweeted and glanced from side to side

As…

If deciding which direction to fly

Standing…

On the frozen twigs

It…

Pecked around some fallen leaves

Then….

Took flight into the frozen

Breeze…

Water

Mankind…

Quenching thirst

Purifying and cleansing

Skin…

Opening pores

Vigorous…

Exercise taking a

Swim…

House plants

Gulping…

Growing…

And living

I do not

Live…

Alone I could

Not…

Live without

Water…

There would not

Be…

A living

Creature…

Evil Comradery

The hose is spraying at full blast

The loud squashing drowning the screams

Of someone’s loved ones begging for help

With perpetrators hearts colder than

The chilly water, they stand banned

Together, with the deadly hose in hand

Voices become weak as bodies sink

Havoc in the street is eradicated

Autumn Serenity

Serenity

A peaceful voyage of the mind

Floating on waves of ease

A raft of calmness

Feeling a slight autumn breeze

The movement and sound

Of the rustling leaves

Tension and worries

Have all been ceased

My Shadow

A blood-curdling scream, sliced the silence

Shadows have no past, or future

They exist for moments in time

While I was sleeping, my shadow

Wasn’t, It was alive

And breathing on me

Holding a knife with a

Bloody serrated blade

The Innocent

Why is it that the

Pure in heart are lost

So young

To violence

From a gun

Or

A silent killer

In the night?

The Murmur Of Nature

Taking a road trip down interstate 9

The street was lined with murmuring pines

You wouldn’t miss them, as you whisked by

They spoke softly of the things they have seen

A grape orchard hid behind the line

I could smell the aroma blowing off the vines

A spectacular view, a backdrop of blues

The hues of the sun, having so much fun

The ins and outs and in-between

The colors of nature

A beauty to be seen

Autumn Leaves

LeavesAutumn

It’s coming, cloaked in colors of the earth

To live awhile, then fertilize its place of birth

With wind blowing leaves with its assertiveness

They twirl in the air, and rest on the ground

You rake them up, and make a pile

Add apples, and bees

And you know it is Fall

Soft Sounds

The ticking of the clock

Punctures the silence

The night is breathing softly

The plants are gasping for air

Whispering in the atmosphere

Bend your ear, so you can hear

Soft sounds of the night

They will be gone, once there is

Light
