I hear the toilet flush
He tip-toes down the hall
I listen intently, for any sound
Over the blowing of the fan
The floor creaks…
As he gets closer to my bedroom
I sit up in bed; there’s a dim glow from
The nightlight…
He turns the knob and I pull the satin sheet up
To my neck, my hands are balled into fists
The door opens slowly and he walks towards
My bed…
I let go off the sheet, his eyes have adjusted to the
Dimness…
He can see through my sheer nightgown
That my breasts are inviting him to join me
As a guest In my bed
Tonight…
Visitors are welcome

I love the last two lines, a mixture of licence and humour. Excellent
